Petit is very much a capital-letter Thief, as well as a capital-letter Assassin, from a guild in France where she was born and raised. Her powers kicked in when she was fifteen and fell off a roof. She can change density at will, going from black-hole solid to completely intangible.

A side-effect of this is that when she's completely intangible she pops into what she calls "the Backstage" which is, in fact, an overlapping dimension, not exactly a pocket dimension, but something similar. There are creatures there that she calls the Shadows.

Because of this: she has the ability to become mostly shadow herself. She can look the same as everyone else, flesh and blood, and usually does, but sometimes looking like a vaguely person-shaped vanta-black void full of holographic micro-glitter serves her purposes much better.

She also has red-on-black eyes, which in conjunction with the shadow-powers and the assassinry make people call her a demon.
She actually kind of likes this.
